The Arrogance of American Business…
The Looting of America Has Begun
By Glenn R. Jackson
We are Americans...
Think that through... American! We are 1776, the Alamo, Bull
Run and Gettysburg, the Greatest Generation and First to the Moon, but we are
even more... we are mothers and fathers working the farms, factories,
shops and stores that brought America step by step across the years to this day
in our Founding Father's distant future.
The generations of Americans that carved out a nation were not corporate CEOs,
career politicians, or media "Idols". Those past generations were no different
then ours, filled with people who wished nothing more then to build their homes
and their families in freedom, peace, and tranquility. And in that effort
across the years they also built a nation. On the efforts of the whole was
established a nation of people, prosperous, safe and free.
And they were American, in love with their country. Everything you see around
you today is our inheritance from those generations, safeguarded and passed down
each generation to their children.
Did they build this nation to see it stolen?
Did they defend this nation with their lives to see it given away?
In our generation has arisen a threat, an aristocracy, a new elite that views
your heritage as theirs to spend and invest as THEY see fit. And in seeing your
inheritance as theirs to spend, they will do so to their advantage and to line
their pockets.
Once upon a time in corporate America it was said, "What was good for General
Motors was good for America." That simple phrase made note of a simple truth,
that as GM grew so did American jobs, as GM prosper so did the American worker.
Today how many think that "Bernie" Ebbers, former WorldCom CEO, thought about
what was good for America. The former WorldCom CEO borrowed $408 million from
the company and oversaw a $9 billion corporate loss that forced WorldCom into
bankruptcy. Add to this your thoughts about Enron and Kenneth Lay (received
$152.7 million in payments), or Adelphia Communications' founder and former CEO,
John J. Rigas (forced a $2.5 billion loss).
Yet these men are only the tip of the "looting of America" iceberg.
Our political leaders have promised great benefit to the American worker from
trade deals like NAFTA, WTO, PTNR for China, and now "fast-track" trade
authority. The reality of these agreements can be found in the 600,000
manufacturing jobs lost between January and November of 2002. While the
maintaining of an open borders society and an "American worker replacement"
immigration program like H-1B or L-1 visas, have lost over a million high
technology jobs to foreign workers on American soil. And our unemployment rate
continues to climb.
For too many years American Jobs, our livelihood and our heritage, have gone in
increasing numbers to foreign lands or to foreign workers in our own land. Our
immigration laws have been subverted to allow foreign nationals to flow into the
country and take American Jobs in record numbers. Trade laws are written to
allow American Jobs to be relocated in foreign lands and American Jobs to be
treated as yet another "Made in China" commodity in our own land.
We are Americans and it is time to say enough!
A group of Americans is organizing to fight back against those who callously
give away that which is not theirs to give... our birthright, our jobs in
business and industry that our Fathers and Mothers worked to build for their
children's future. And as we now wish to build for our children's future.
They have formed a National movement and a National Society:
The Hire American Citizens Professional Society, founded upon the recognition
that American business is built upon the mutual bonds of American Citizenship
and the long heritage and commitment of generations of American workers, is
dedicated to the protection and promotion of the American Citizen professional,
the best, the brightest, and the most innovative worker in the world.
The objectives of the Society are to advance the American publics welfare and
promote the professional, social, and economic interests of the American citizen
professional; to promote the hiring of American citizens, to stimulate the
dialogue with American business and political leaders for a return to the
concepts of American workers first and foremost, and to promote our heritage of
American workers and an American wage.
Membership will be for all American Citizen professionals in High Technology
related fields such as Information Technology, Engineering, Healthcare,
Education, Research, Media, and others impacted by programs designed to take
American jobs from American workers.
If Americans will not unite to preserve their country and their heritage no one
else will. The doors to the Mall of America are wide open, and the looting has
begun.
